Service
Solar Panel Removal & Reinstallation on Oʻahu.
Why This Service Exists
Most homeowners with rooftop solar will need to re-roof at least once during the life of the system. When that day comes, the roofing contractor cannot touch the panels, and most solar installers do not advertise this service. The result is often a scramble to find someone qualified, a delayed project, or worst case, the panels getting handled by people not licensed to handle them.
We do this work as a core service. We coordinate directly with your roofer.
Why Use a Licensed Solar Contractor (Not Your Roofer)
Warranty protection. Most solar manufacturer warranties are voided if non-certified personnel handle the panels.
Insurance coverage. Roofing crews are not licensed for the electrical and HECO interconnection work that solar removal requires.
Production guarantee. We test pre- and post-install output to confirm your system is performing the same as before.
HECO compliance. Disconnecting and reconnecting a PV system from the grid requires specific filings. We handle them.
Coordinating with Your Roofer
We work as a partner to your roofing contractor. Our crew removes the array, your roofers re-roof, our crew reinstalls. We have done this with most of the major Oʻahu roofing companies and can recommend a roofer if you do not already have one.

Frequently Asked Questions
How long does the whole process take?
Removal is typically one day. Storage during the roof project varies; most re-roofs take 3 to 10 days. Reinstallation is one to two days. HECO reconnection paperwork is concurrent.
Will my warranty still be valid?
Yes, because the work is performed by a licensed solar contractor following manufacturer specifications. Warranty status remains intact.
What does it cost?
Most Oʻahu residential PV take-off and reinstall projects fall between $3,500 and $8,000, depending on system size and roof complexity. Storm-damage cases may be partially or fully covered by insurance.
Can you do partial removal — just a few panels?
Yes. For localized roof repairs, we can remove and reinstall a section of the array without disturbing the rest.
